WOD Type: “5K Run”
WOD Warm-Up:
30 minute standard WOD warm-up for mobility. I have also added overhead squat / Snatch Preparation Routine… Mobility man stretches.
WOD Particulars:
Well, I was suppose to do a 5K run and decided to do a Biathlon instead of a bike, run, bike. Here’s the layout:
- Bike 6 Miles
- Run 2 Miles
- Bike 6 Miles
Today’s WOD was a combination of times. I completed both bike times at 31:12, and the run in 17:40. I could have easily ran the 5K, so I decided to juice it up a little. Anyway, I will use this 2 mile time as a base line for future testing. Oh, the first 400 meter was completed at 1:48…
Skill Work: Mobility work …
Overall, another great workout today! Thanks Crossfit.com…
Teachable Moment:
WOD Moment… Whey Protein – Effects on serotonin, blood sugar regulation, and more!
Although the above would probably be the major mechanisms by which whey could help the dieter, there are several secondary effects of whey that may assist in weight loss. For example, whey’s effects on serotonin levels. Serotonin is probably the most studied neurotransmitter since it has been found to be involved in a wide range of psychological and biological functions. Serotonin ( also called 5-hydroxytryptamine or 5-HT) is involved with mood, anxiety, and appetite.
