Today’s WOD is:
WOD Strength Day 1:
WOD Session will be 3 Sets @ 5 Reps Heavy of:
- Back Squats: 155 lbs. X 5 X 3
- Incline Press: 135 lbs. X 5 X 3
- Pullups: 3 Sets @ Max Reps
WOD Form:
I intentionally went low in weight in order to improve my form. I feel my squats need a lot of improvement. I chose inline press instead of regular bench in order to incorporate more of the shoulder region. As for the pullups…
My pullups have been suffering over the last few WOD’s and I have had to rely a lot on bands. Or, in my case, I use the TRX to help spot myself on the pullup bar.
Today, I did really strict pullups in this WOD and could only muster up 5 good pullups all 3 sets. Hopefully, this Wichita Falls Strength Program will help.
The CrossFit Wichita Falls program is a mix of barbell training to increase
strength and metabolic conditioning. It has no specific goal and can be
considered a general physical preparedness (GPP) program. Understanding the
fundamental nature of strength helps validate the inclusion of barbell training.
Every physical attribute is directly correlated with and limited by strength. The
most efficient way to increase all physical attributes is to increase strength
because strength is the fundamental capacity.
I will keep you posted on my progress and whether or not this helps. Also, one last thing, I will also be incorporating more running into my workout routines.
Hopefully that will help increase the weight loss. I would love to drop down to 185 lbs. That’s another 35 pounds from the already 10 I’ve lost since starting crossfit. Just keep the WOD routines rockin’…
